Issues: `Three students suspects in bullying case'

A- A A+

The Jakarta Police named Thursday three senior students from state high school SMA 70 in South Jakarta suspects in a bullying case involving a freshman. City police's women and children protection unit head Comr. Murnila said her investigators had planned to question the three students this morning but delayed the interviews following requests from their families.

"The parents of one suspect, for example, said they and their daughter were still busy looking for universities before her official *high school* graduation," Murnila said.

Your comments:

How come the police delayed the interview for such a lame excuse given by the student's parents? The police officers are so lame; they should act professionally and enforce the law. This is an obvious crime.

I tend to blame the TV programming because this is how they depict normal behavior in their stories aimed at teens.

Why would the police cede to requests from the parents for a delay? The girls obviously had no regard for the feelings of their victim so should be treated with the same mindset.
