House likely to approve Darmin as BI governor: Priyo

The House of Representatives is likely to approve Bank Indonesia (BI) senior deputy governor Darmin Nasution as the upcoming BI governor thanks to his good track record, House Deputy Speaker Priyo Budi Santoso has said.

"Parties at the House will likely approve Darmin. Golkar is OK with him," Priyo, who is a senior politician in the Golkar Party, said.

However, he said, the House had yet to receive the candidate's name for the BI governor post from the President.

Darmin has occupied several important posts including as Tax Office director general and the Stock and Financial Regulations Supervisory Agency head.
