Democratic Party Chairman Anas Urbaningrum will appoint a secretary general who is not part of his success team during the recent party's chairmanship race, a close aide says.
"It can be assured that the new secretary general will not come from Anas' bloc," head of the Anas' success team, Achmad Mubarok, told reporters in Jakarta on Friday.
Speculations rife that, Edhie "Ibas" Baskoro Yudhoyono, the youngest son of the Democratic Party chief patron and founder, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will be appointed new secretary general.
Ibas gave his political support to Andi Mallarangeng during the party's chairmanship race.
Mubarok also added that the new party leadership structure was almost fully completed.
"The structure is about 70 to 90 percent completed," he said.
