President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will attend an event to commemorate World Environment Day and give out environmental awards to individuals and the cleanest cities in the country at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The Environment Ministry said the President would present 12 Kalpataru awards this year from the 282 nominees.
The Kalpataru award is awarded to people or communities that have contributed to the preservation and improvement of the environment. To date, 264 people have received the award.
Yudhoyono will also hand over Adipura awards to the cleanest cities in the country.
