The Transjakarta management body (BLU) became a full official body on April 1, giving it restricted authority to manage its own finances, an official has said.
“We can now handle small repairs in shelters and on buses,” BLU control manager Gunardjo told The Jakarta Post on Thursday, adding that the body was still a working unit under the Transportation Agency.
Despite the new status, he said BLU was still very dependent on the cooperation of the Traffic Police division and other city agencies like the Public Works Agency and the Parks and Cemeteries Agency.
“For example, the maintenance of some parts of the crossing bridges to the Transjakarta shelters is handled by us, while the rest is taken care of by the Transportation Agency,” Gunardjo said.|
