President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono are watching the World Cup opening
match between host South Africa and Mexico at a hotel in Jimbaran, Bali,
along with journalists who will cover an art festival he opens on
Saturday.
Several Cabinet members, including Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Communication Minister Tifatul Sembiring and Sports Minister Andi Mallarangeng, joined the get-together on Friday night.
“The President watched the match while having dinner,” Andi said as quoted by kompas.com. “He will watch the whole match.”
Andi said the President would also watch the World Cup final on July 11 together with a number of foreign ambassadors at the State Palace.
The President invited French and Italian ambassadors to watch the 2006 World Cup final at the palace. Italy won the Cup, beating France in the final.
