Floods have inundated at least 75 hectares of rice fields in Bayah distric in Lebak, Banten, poising risk to spoil ready-to-harvest crops, according to local agriculture agency.
“Flood have inundated the fields for three days. The plants will likely be spoiled,” Rahmat Yuniar, an official at the agency told Antara news agency.
Rahmat said Saturday that his office was still collecting data of rice fields affected by the overflowing Cidikit and Cimadur rivers.
Farm areas affected by the flood includes those in Bayah Barat, Cimancak, Suakan, Cidikit, Pasir Gombong, Cisuren, Sawarna, Pamumbulan, and Bayah Timur.
