The House of Representatives speaker, Marzuki Alie from the Democratic Party, says that there will be no further discussion on the aspiration fund in the current working period.
"There is only one plenary session left before we enter recess," he told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The aspiration fund worth Rp 15 billion (US$1.5 million) for each of the 560 House legislators is proposed by the Golkar Party faction. The proposal, however, meets heavy opposition because it is considered nothing but Golkar's attempt to buy votes using the fund for the 2014 general elections.
Golkar, however, insisted that the idea is based on the spirit to develop regions.
