JAKARTA: The director of security and transnational crime at the National Police detective body, Saut Usman Nasution, said Friday that authorities were still trying to identify the persons in a sex tape who "look like" Peterpan front man Ariel and models/actresses Luna Maya and Cut Tari.
The police summoned Ariel and Luna for questioning twice, on June 11 and on Friday. The police questioned Cut Tari on Monday.
"Until today, Luna and Ariel still deny that they are the persons in the sex tapes," Saut said.
He said that as of Friday the police had investigated six persons who allegedly uploaded the tapes to the Internet for the first time. He added that the tapes were uploaded on May 22 this year.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said he supported the legal measures taken by the police to uncover the mystery.
"I support the police's measures of taking legal actions against those who reproduced and disseminated the videos, as well as those who made them, if there is indeed an indication that it is against the law," Yudhoyono said at the State Palace in Cipanas, West Java, on Friday.
Yudhoyono reminded the public, particularly parents, educators and religious leaders, to help safeguard the morality of the nation. (rdf)
