South Jakarta Police announced Monday they had arrested another suspect in the murder of a Japanese couple at their residence in Rawa Lele area, Jombang, in Tangerang on Thursday.

South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Gatot Edy Pramono said Monday the suspect, Iwan Iriawan, was arrested in his grandmother's house in Cipanas, Cianjur, West Java, a day earlier.

"Iwan and Asep (another suspect who has been arrested earlier) are coming from the same village," he said.

"Both of them actually planned to rob the house of their former employer. That's why they brought a knife along with them."

Neighbors found on Thursday night Japanese expatriate Yasuo Hara and his wife Mizue Hara dead with stab wounds after they apprehended one of the suspects, who the police identified as Abdullah alias Asep, 22.

The suspect had worked for the foreign couple as a gardener until his dismissal a week before the murder.
