New Jakarta police chief inaugurated

The National Police Chief Gen. Bambang Hendarso Danuri inaugurated Tuesday the new Jakarta Police chief along with several other high rank officials who get position transfer in another routine of tour of duty.
Former West Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Timur Pradopo replaced former city police chief Insp. Gen. Wahyono, who will hold a new position as head the National Police intelligence and security agency.
Timur was the West Jakarta police chief during the 1998 Trisakti shootings, which claimed the lives of students from the University of Trisakti.
Human rights NGO Imparsial recently claimed that Timur has not given a clear explanation of the incident.
