Indonesia's economy will continue to expand despite uncertain conditions in world markets, the World Bank says.
Indonesia’s economy is expected to grow slowly in 2011 because of domestic demand, World Bank senior economist Enrique Blanco Armas said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Growth in the Indonesian economy would exceed 7 percent should the country reach its 2010-2014 national development plan, Blanco said as reported by Antara.
The imports rate would surpass exports, while inflation would also increase in line with higher lending rates and commodity prices, he said.
Based on the World Bank’s records, Indonesia's economy would grow to 6.5 percent in the third quarter from 5.7 percent in the first quarter.
