At least six people were killed and dozens of others injured when a train derailed in an area between Nganjuk and Madiun in East Java on Tuesday.

Metro TV news channel reported rescue officers were facing difficulties in evacuating two bodies which were squeezed inside one of the three cars derailed.

The Logawa train was carrying around 200 passengers as it was traveling from Purwokerto in Central Java to Jember in East Java.
