The Tangerang municipal administration organized training Wednesday to help companies improve the environmental quality of the municipality.
The technical guideline training was participated in by dozens of firms including hospitals.
“The training is one administration’s persuasive, preventive and technological approach to familiarize firms and hospitals with a clean and healthy environment,” Roestiwi, head of the municipal environmental management body (BPLH), said.
She expected firms that manufacture foods, paper, textiles, ceramics and medicines could produce clean and environmentally friendly products after training.
“Community members are now becoming more responsive toward changes in the environment, including small scale changes in drainage water color,” she said.
The training was also part of efforts to remind firms to implement a waste treatment facility as required by law and the bylaw.
