Legislators at the House of Representatives Commission III on Law and Human Rights have urged former justice minister Yusril Ihza Mahendra to unravel the truth behind a number of high-profile graft cases he claims to know.

“As a former law and human rights minister, he [Yusril] definitely knows about a lot about the cases. He should publicly open them,” Gayus Lumbuun from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) told reporters on Friday.

Ahmad Yani from the United Development Party (PPP) said that he believed Yusril could also open many other graft cases that he knew.

“We, the Commission III, will also do our best to facilitate the revelation of the graft cases,” he said.

Yusril has been named as a suspect in alleged graft in the operation of an online service he endorsed when he was the minister in 2001. In response to his implication, he threatened to open facts related to a number of graft cases, including the Bank Century bailout.
