JAKARTA: The Attorney General's Office (AGO) said Friday that it was ready to chase fugitive businessman Hartono Tanoesudibjo if he fails to appear for questioning on graft allegations.

Deputy Attorney General Darmono said that the public should not worry about the ongoing case, which alleges graft surrounding a Justice and Human Rights Ministry website.

"The AGO will summon Hartono for questioning, as stipulated by law. If he doesn't come back, we will go after him," he told reporters at the AGO in Jakarta.

Hartono fled to Taiwan on June 24, a day before the Directorate General of Immigration granted the AGO's request to stop the businessman from leaving Indonesia. - JP
