JAKARTA: Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo denied allegation the administration bribed a number of councilors to provide a positive review in its investigation of the bloody clash in Koja, North Jakarta.
"I guarantee 100 percent that no city funds that has or will be disbursed for such a purpose," Fauzi said Friday, adding "You can write that in capitals."
Corruption Eradication Com-mission (KPK) spokesman Johan Budi said the commission had sent a letter to each of the 10 councilors regarding the deadly clash.
"We ask them to clarify the allegations of gratification we have heard," he told The Jakarta Post over the phone.
He did not reveal the name of the fund's recipients or institution that allegedly delivered them. - JP
