A group of legislators from the House of Representatives’ Commission I on intelligence and defense led by Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita visited the Indonesian Battalion (Indobat) currently on duty in Lebanon.
Agus Gumiwang said the visit was aimed at boosting the soldiers’ morale while carrying out state duties there.
Before the visit, the legislators had also visited Palestine. The trip stirred controversy with critics saying the purpose of the trip was unclear and was a big waste of state funds.
