Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa and his Mexican counterpart Patricia Espinosa held a bilateral meeting on Thursday as part of cooperation in various fields, including environment.
Spokesman for the IndonesianForeign Ministry Teuku Faizasyah said Espinosa visited Indonesia to share views on the climate change summit in Mexico at the end of the year.
Faizasyah added that Mexico as chair of the 16th conference of parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change would brief Indonesia about its preparation for the summit.
Indonesia hosted the summit in 2007.
The Mexican Embassy said in a press statement the country was expecting inputs from the Indonesian government and private sector regarding the summit’s agenda.
Espinosa also met with Indonesian environment minister, trade minister and executive chairman of the National Climate Change Council during her two-day visit which lasted until Thursday.
