Bali Customs and Excise officers seized 4,703 bottles of illegally imported liquor at two houses in Kuta, Bali, on Monday night.
The liquor was said to be intended for distribution throughout Kuta.
“We first received information from local residents on unlicensed liquor being distributed in their neighborhoods.
“We followed up the report with thorough surveillance, and later raided two houses which stored the illegal alcoholic beverages,” Bambang Wahyudi, head of service and control for Ngurah Rai Airport’s customs office, said Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
The officers also arrested a suspect, identified as LM, as one of the owners of the illegal liquor.
Bambang said that the illegal beverages had a street market value of Rp 1.5 billion (US$166,021).
