Reshuffle not Golkar party line

Golkar Party secretary-general Idrus Marham says the recent proposal for a Cabinet reshuffle voiced by one of the party's senior executives, Priyo Budi Santoso, is not an official idea of the party.

“That proposal was [Priyo’s] personal statement in his capacity as one of the House of Representatives deputy speakers," Idrus said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

“There is no plan to reshuffle ministers from Golkar,” he said.

Priyo recently said there was a need for a reshuffle following a recent evaluation report that showed several ministries had underperformed.

The government institutions that had received “red marks” included the Communication and Information Technology Ministry and the Law and Human Rights Ministry.
