Police bust local WCup online betting syndicate

The Jakarta Police have arrested two suspected online gambling operators, who have provided soccer betting service to local citizens since last year.
City police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said Wednesday the two suspects, identified as RK, 35, and PB, 24, had been arrested in a unit at Mediterania Gajah Mada Apartment in West Jakarta early Monday, when the World Cup final match was on play.
“The suspects ran two gambling sites at www.rumahbola.com and www.maniakbola.com simultaneously for around a year. During the World Cup event, the two sites could circulate up to hundreds of million rupiah in transaction daily,” Boy said.
The police, according to Boy, are currently hunting down another suspect, RS, who introduced the two suspects to an international betting syndicate which provided the system for their operation.
