Communications and Information Technology Minister Tifatul Sembiring said Wednesday there would be no reshuffle despite a recent report of poor performance of a number of government ministers.
“President [Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono], through [Presidential spokesman] Julian [Aldrin Pasha], has confirmed there will be no reshuffle in relation to the evaluation,” Tifatul said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
House of Representatives deputy speaker Priyo Budi Santoso had suggested the President reshuffle ministers that had received “red marks”.
Last week, the Presidential Working Unit for Development Monitoring and Control (UKP4) had given one-quarter of the 45 government ministries and state institutions “red marks” for failures to implement dozens of priority national development programs in the first half of the year.
Among the institutions that performed poorly were the Public Works Ministry, the Justice and Human Rights Ministry, the Communications and Information Technology Ministry and the National Disaster Mitigation Agency.
