DENPASAR: The management of Sanuka Tour filed a police report alleging a long-term customer failed to pay for over Rp 100 million in travel services.
The customer, identified as Gusti Putu Ayu Kardani, was the company’s client for some time and previously worked for Bali Ayu Samosir Tour and Travel.
Sanuka Tour general manager Jeffrey Wibisono alleged that Kardani had promised to pay the bill valued at Rp 163 million (US$17,930).
Kardani allegedly provided Sanuka Tour with a check that was later discovered to be blank, Wibisono said, adding that he then contacted Bali Ayu Samosir, where the woman said she worked.
Finding out that Kardani was no longer an employee, Wibisono reported the case to Bali Police and the Association of Travel Agencies (ASITA). “This serves as a warning for other travel agencies to be more cautious when signing a joint working agreement with other parties,” Wibisono said. — JP
