Stepmom faces charges after allegedly kill baby

Surabaya Police in East Java has charged a woman for allegedly torturing and murdering 9-month-old Jodi Saptabrina on early Thursday.

Adj. Sr. Comr. Bahagia Dachi said that the woman, identified only by her initial V, had admitted the crimes.

“The suspect brought the baby to hospital on early Thursday, seeking help. Hospital officials, finding abuse wounds, called the police,” Bahagia said as quoted by kompas.com.

He said that the woman also admitted of gagging the baby's mouth whenever it cry.

“We are charging her under the Child Protection Law and the Criminal Law,” Bahagia said.
