A magnitude 5 earthquake jolted Melonguane, North Sulawesi, Friday morning. No damage or injuries were reported.
The Geophysics, Climatology, and Meteorology (BMKG) said the quake hit the city at 7:48 a.m. Jakarta time.
It was centered 40 kilometers southeast of Melonguane at a depth of 102 kilometers, the agency added.
A number of mild earthquakes have been recorded in the area the past year.
