Three-and-a-half-year-old Angelica, left Lavalette Hospital following 18 days of medical treatment after she was mauled by a tiger at Taman Safari Indonesia Prigen in East Java.

Angelica, from the Central Java capital of Semarang, was attacked by the tiger during a family outing. Her father, Petrus Dwi Dharmanto, said Friday Angelica would undergo further treatment at Tlogorejo Hospital in Semarang.

“She still has difficulty opening her mouth because of the wound in her right cheek.” Petrus said.

Angelica also sustains injuries to her ear. Zoo spokesman Nurul Huda said the zoo had agreed to cover all medical costs, Antara news agency reported.

The incident transpired when a 10-month-old Bengal tiger leaped from its cage into a crowd and attacked Angelica.
