Graft suspect lawyer says KPK unethical

Sugeng Teguh Santoso, the lawyer of graft suspect Ary Muladi, met with the law division of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), to clarify the status of his client Monday.

"We affirm that KPK is unethical because Ary's explanation of the alleged corruption is now being used to attack him," Sugeng said after the meeting.

He added that KPK could have violated the law because the commission should have protected his client as a witness instead of making him a suspect.

Last Friday, the anti-corruption commission named Ary as a suspect in alleged corruption in connection with the procurement of an integrated radio communication system at the Forestry Ministry. (lnd)
