The forensic team at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Jakarta said Thursday that Indonesian migrant worker Sariah, 37, from Indramayu, West Java, had died due to injuries suffered from repeated blows with a blunt object.

"The worst injury, which caused bleeding in her brain stem that led to her death, was to the back of her neck,” said Doctor Munim Idris.

Sariah died on July 8 after an eight-day comma at Al Ada'an hospital in Kuwait. Her body was flown back to her homeland, and arrived in Jakarta last night.

According to her son Agus Sumantri, Sarinah had not contacted her family for the past month.

"She did not tell us about the bad treatment she got from her employer. We heard about it from one of her fellow migrant workers there," he said. (lnd)
