DENPASAR: Governor Made Mangku Pastika said he aimed to have ready an online system for the payment of vehicle taxes starting this year
ENPASAR: Governor Made Mangku Pastika said he aimed to have ready an online system for the payment of vehicle taxes starting this year.
“We are eager to give the best service to the people of Bali,” said Pastika during a presentation of Samsat Online by Bali Regional Bank (BPD).
Bali will work with the bank to implement the Samsat Online system.
The administration said it would establish a team from the local tax and revenue office to prepare all related technical requirements.
Samsat Online is part of the administration’s efforts to develop Bali’s E-government, in which all services are available online.
Samsat Online will enable vehicle owners to register and pay their taxes via ATM.
BPD president director I Wayan Suja said the system would ease the complicated procedures to pay vehicle taxes.
Many people find paying their vehicle taxes a hassle because of the extensive red tape and the ubiquity of middlemen at the tax office offering their services. — JP
