JAKARTA: The administration plans to issue regulation that would require shopping centers and office buildings to provide space for bicycle parking lots.
South Jakarta Mayor Syahrul Effendi said Thursday that he would ask local shopping centers and office building managers to provide parking lots for bicycles.
“It is still discussed at the provincial level. There will be an obligation to provide bicycle parking lots under a new spatial planning and building regulation,” said Syahrul, who also chaired the Indonesian Bicycle Committee, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
