Garuda Indonesia Worker Union said Monday it would hold a strike over salary increase dispute and the airline management decision to reject a working agreement based on Labor Law.
Tommy Tampatty, the worker union spokesman, said Garuda management raised workers salary by between Rp 50,000 (US$5.5) and 200,000 but the management told all workers not to inform other people about the amount of their salaries.
He added that Garuda management also refused to set a pension age at 56.
"We will hold a meeting today to decide a protest and strike," he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com
The worker union would also report the problem to State-owned Enterprises Minister Mustafa Abubakar and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
