Lawmakers of the House of Representatives have showed positive feedback over public criticism on their previous poor attendance at hearings.
Tempointeraktif.com reported that 407 legislators from a total of 560 attended a hearing Monday.
“We usually start a hearing at 10:00 a.m. However, some of the lawmakers still arrive late,” said House deputy speaker Pramono Anung.
Pramono said the parliament is open to public criticism over its members’ poor behavior. “Some may be lacking discipline, such as exampled by skipping hearings, but I believe their attitudes can be improved,” he added.
