AKARTA: The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) demanded the government to investigate recent series of explosions of 3-kilogram LPG canisters.
"The government must be willing to take all necessary steps, including directly checking the canister quality, regulators and hoses, along with other accessories," the head of the PKS wing in the House of Representatives, Mustafa Kamal, said Tuesday.
Mustafa added that the government had to stop citing the people's lack of technical knowledge as a scapegoat for the explosions.
He said the PKS would establish an independent team led by M. Idris Lutfi, one of the party's legislators in the House's Commission VII overseeing energy, to investigate the incidents. -JP
