National Police detectives questioned on Thursday Reza Rizaldy alias Redjoy or RJ in connection with the circulation of sex videos featuring lead singer of prominent boyband Peterpan, Nazriel “Ariel” Ilham and presenters Luna Maya and Cut Tari.
A lawyer representing RJ, Niko Kresna, said his client was quizzed as a witness in the case, despite the fact that the police had declared him a suspect.
“[He] received 70 questions, including the substance [of the case],” Niko said as quoted by kompas.com. The lawyer added the police did not confront his client with Ariel, Luna or Tari, saying RJ’s accounts were considered compatible with testimonies of the three celebrities.
Niko declined to comment on the charges leveled on his client. “The investigators said they had found adequate preliminary evidence to launch an investigation. We cannot talk about who is to blame,” he said.
RJ is one of eight people named suspects for allegedly posting the videos in the Internet. He is charged under the pornography law, the electronic information and transaction law and the Criminal Code.
Police suspect RJ of stealing the videos from Ariel’s laptop. The man, also known as Ariel’s friend, is under the police custody.
