Argo Bromo executive train traveling from Jakarta to Surabaya derailed just as it passed Manggarai station in South Jakarta on Friday.

A mechanic with the state railway company PT KAI, Priyono, said the accident took place at 3:50 p.m.

“It happened in a bending track. Perhaps the train was speeding that it derailed,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.

No fatalities were reported in the accident. Evacuation of the derailed car was still underway as of 6 p.m., but the impacts of the derailment on the railway traffic were not immediately known.
