The annual Jalan Jaksa and Betawi Culinary Festival in Central Jakarta will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Jakarta governor Fauzi Bowo is expected to open the three-day event, to be held along the road popular among foreign backpackers.
The Jakarta traffic police will close the road due to the activity and ask motorists to find alternative roads to avoid traffic congestion.
No less than 40 stands selling traditional cuisines and other stands representing eight districts across Central Jakarta will highlight the festival, organized to commemorate the 463rd anniversary of Jakarta.
