JAKARTA: The city administration is still waiting for a regulation on toll road management before starting construction of six elevated inner toll roads, estimated to cost Rp 23 trillion (US$1.9 billion).
Although Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto had given a statement requiring that the administration cover 67 percent of the total cost of each elevated toll road, the government has not issued a formal regulation to support construction, Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo said on Wednesday.
“We will join the venture as an equity partner,” Fauzi added.
The toll roads, to be built in phases, are Kampung Melayu-Kemayoran, Pasar Minggu-Casablanca, Kampung Melayu-Duri Pulo, Pulogebang-Sunter, Ulujami-Tanah Abang and Semanan-Sunter. — JP
