FPI holds convoy in Jakarta to celebrate anniversary

Around a thousand members Islamic group the Islam Defenders Front (FPI) participate in a convoy to across Jakarta to celebrate its the organization's 12th anniversary.
Jakarta Police Traffic Center Management Center reported that the convoy would be started at FPI base in Petamburan.
The convoy will later go through Slipi, Jl. Gatot Subroto, Semanggi, Jl. Jenderal Sudirman, Jl. MH Thamrin, Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat, Harmoni, Jl. Djuanda and ended at the State Palace in Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara.
Criticisms and calls to disband have been addressed to FPI, which has allegedly used violence to vandalize places and disrupt activities it deems un-Islamic.
Earlier this year, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) said it had repeatedly asked FPI not to use violence to achieve its goals, but was to no avail.
