JAKARTA: Former justice and human rights minister Yusril Ihza Mahendra said he was optimistic about his judicial review request with the Constitutional Court.
"I am certain that the arguments in the request have a solid legal basis," Yusril said after a Constitutional Court hearing on the review of Hendarman Supandji's position as Attorney General.
Yusril added that he was confident that the constitutional court judges would weighing the case fairly.
"I am certain that the Constitutional Court will not be swayed easily by any party, even though the government could make approaches," he said, adding that he was sure of the judges' integrity.
Yusril filed a judicial challenging of Hendarman's appointment as AGO after state prosecutors named him a suspect in a graft investigation at the Justice Ministry. - JP
