ANDUNG: Chevron Geothermal Salak reportedly donated 810 bags of blood to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) as part of its blood donation day program.
The program, held in observance of the beginning of Ramadan this week, was conducted in Sukabumi and Bogor, West Java, last week.
PMI Sukabumi deputy chairman Adang Gunawan said that while Muslims were preparing for the Ramadan fast, the program still saw quite a lot of donors. The local PMI could only meet 80 percent of its annual blood needs, which amount to between 6,000 and 7,000 bags.
"We need 28 to 30 bags a day," he said. - JP
