Ba'asyir officially detained

Police officially detained on Wednesday Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Baasyir for his alleged involvement in terrorist activities.  

Baasyir was declared a suspect on Tuesday, but it was not clear yet whether he would be detained and put in a detention center.

National Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Ito Sumardi said police had evidences that Baasyir funded a terrorist military camp in Aceh.

"The evidences are not only witnesses statements, but they can be bank account and transaction, and
telephone conversation," he said.
