JAKARTA: In conjunction with the commemoration of Bali provincial administration’s 52nd anniversary, the Bali authority has held a writing competition for 250 of its middle-ranking officials.
It is compulsory for the officials to take part in the contest held under the theme of Advanced, Secure, Peaceful and Prosperous Bali program, which was launched recently by Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika and Deputy Governor Anak Agung Ngurah Puspayoga.
“The writing competition will be used as a means to show their capability and could lead the governor to promote them,” Bali administration’s spokesman Putu Suardhika said in Denpasar on Tuesday.
Out of the 250 participants, the committee has selected the best nine, who will be announced during a ceremony for the commemoration of the anniversary on Aug. 14.
Last week the Bali administration sponsored a scientific lecture featuring three experts — administration legal expert Prof. Supandi, business expert Renald Khasali and marketing expert Hermawan Kartajaya.
The lecture was aimed at helping improve the human resources skills among civil servants at the Bali administration.
“We hope the civil servants will become more creative and innovative,” Suardhika said as quoted by kompas.com news portal. — JP
