Top fashion designer Adjie Notonegoro stood trial on Thursday at the South Jakarta District Court for allegedly embezzling his business partner money of nearly Rp 1 billion (US$100,000).

Tempointeraktif.com reported that he was escorted to the court by officials without special security treatment.

Adjie was reportedly able to sell a diamond from his business partner Melvin Chandrianto Tjhin worth Rp 970 million, but he did not give the money to Melvin.

Melvin filed a lawsuit against Adjie, accusing him of misusing the money.
