208 police deployed to stop illegal racing

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Police are set to deploy 208 officers to stop illegal street racing in the capital.
The police plan to conduct daily raids against these races between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
“Every team will be led by one first officer,” Adj. Comr. Sugeng told kompas.com on Thursday.
The police have also appealed for public help in delivering information on such races to the Jakarta Police Traffic Management Center (TMC) on 021-5276001 or SMS 1717. — JP
