The Special Presidential Staff office for Social Assistance and Disaster has sent a team to Singapore to see musician and activist Franky Sahilatua, who is being treated at a hospital there for an illness.
"The President hopes that Franky who is in a post-surgery condition will recover soon," the president’s special staff, Andi Arief, said as quoted by Antara on Friday.
Franky, composer of popular song "Kemesraan” (Affection), is suffering from bone marrow cancer.
Andi, who has been close to Franky since the late 90's, hailed the Surabaya-born singer as a consistent government critic, who dares to offer solutions to the government.
