New governor to be installed in a garage

Irwan Prayitno and Muslim Kasim will be installed on Sunday as the new West Sumatra Governor and Deputy Governor respectively in a local legislative council garage.

Home Minister Gamawan Fauzi will inaugurate the pair in a garage as the legislative council building was destroyed by an earthquake, tempointeraktif.com reported.

Irwan Prayitno of the Prosperous Justice Party won the local election on June 30 in one round. He beat other candidates such as Marlis Rahman, Endang Irsal, and Fauzi Bahar.
