City police ticket 413 motorcyclists in illegal racing

The Jakarta Police gave tickets to 413 motorcyclists during street racing inspections in the first week of Ramadan fasting month.

“The crackdowns were conducted from Aug. 11 to 16,” the police’s traffic unit officer Comr. Jumarno said Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

Jumarno said most violations occurred on main streets around the Indonesia Miniature Park (TMII) and Cipinang in East Jakarta, with 137 violators.

“Besides giving tickets, we also seize eight motorcycles without legal documents,” he added.
