Govt to cut prison terms of 35,000 inmates on Independence Day

In accordance with the country’s 65th Independence Day celebration on
Tuesday, the Justice and Human Rights Ministry will award remissions
to 35,000 inmates across the country.
Minister Patrialis Akbar said that 200 inmates would walk free as the remission resulted in completion of their jail terms.
“However, the Directorate General of Penitentiary will have until tonight to complete the data. We’ll be rechecking the list later,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.
Patrialis said no terrorist convicts among the 200 prisoners.
