Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo has condemned alleged sexual
harassment against female members of the province's Paskibra flag-raising team
during their training and is asking authorities to investigate the case, a
gubernatorial spokesman said Wednesday.
Spokesman Cucu Ahmad Kurnia said the case was being handled by the Jakarta
Youth and Sports Affairs Agency.
“If we find evidence of harassment, the case will be handed over to the
police,” he told tempointeraktif.com.
Cucu said he did not know exactly what had happened.
“From what I heard, female students were allegedly ordered to walk naked from
the bathroom to their barracks, while being watched by their female seniors,”
he said
As many as 14 male students and 14 female students participated in a training
camp at the Cibubur Scout Complex for the Aug. 17 Independence Day celebration flag-raising
ceremony.
